She said: “I am so excited to have been nominated for an award for best client service.

“My work as a celebrant is my absolute passion and to be taking part in the inaugural year of The Celebrant Industry Awards means an awful lot.

“Over the years I’ve worked with so many extraordinary families and couples marking key life events, such as the loss of a loved one, the arrival of a new family member, a wedding or a renewal of vows, and knowing that someone out there has put my name forward for recognition in this category is fantastic.

“Weddings and other events disappeared almost overnight due to the Covid-19 crisis and whilst funerals continued they have been heavily impacted by the pandemic.

“This last year has been a stark reminder for me of the amazing strength of the human spirit.

“Many of the families I’ve supported have lost family members due to Covid-19 and it’s made a difficult time even more traumatic for them, for obvious reasons.

“There have been some very sobering moments in my work this past year, but it’s reminded me just how lucky I am to have a job that I love.

“And to have met, laughed with, cried with and got to know, so many incredible people over the years.

“I pride myself on always going the extra mile for my clients and making sure each and every service, or ceremony, is filled with ‘heart and soul’.

“I delivered my first ever wedding ceremony in 2004 and since becoming a celebrant full-time in 2016 I haven’t looked back.

“So, I’d like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to whoever nominated me and the best of luck to everyone involved.”

Winners will be announced on Monday, May 31.
