Haywards Heath Fire Station opened its doors to members of the public on Saturday, allowing them to see a glimpse into the life of a firefighter.

The team put on demonstrations, including putting out a chip pan fire and simulated rescues from a burning tower and a car, using their training facilities.

Visitors were also able to try out some of the equipment, including a hose reel, and sit in a fire engine.
