Firefighters have put out a burning car in Pease Pottage.

The Crawley crew was called to the scene in Brighton Road near the M23 services at 10.22am today (Wednesday May 25).

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the car was ‘well alight’ when firefighters arrived.

The crew tackled the accidental fire with breathing gear and a hose. They were on scene for about half an hour.

The incident blocked the road in both directions at Parish Lane.
