Esther Featherstone, from Lindfield, will hold the event on Sunday, August 25, at the Clair Hall, Haywards Heath in aid of Chestnut Tree House which acts as a home away from home for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

The Zumbathon will begin at midnight and finish at 1pm on the bank holiday Monday.

Zumba fitness instructor Esther hopes to ‘pay for a day’ as the hospice costs £6,850 to run every single day. She is hoping this will be possible as she raised more than £30,000 on behalf of St Peter and St James Hospice.

She later received Bright FM’s ‘Fundraiser of the Year 2012’ award, cementing her reputation as a tireless supporter of local charities such as Crohn’s and Colitis UK and the Chailey Heritage School.

The 12-hour Zumbathon is open to everyone – any age and ability - and will welcome back many of the people who supported Esther last September, when she danced into the Guinness World Record books by completing a 39-hour, non-stop Zumba marathon.

Dancers can sign up for any length of time - with many choosing to attempt the full 12 hours.
