Plane wreckage is taken away

Wreckage salvaged from the A27 Hawker Hunter plane crash site was transported away for investigation earlier today.

Parts of the plane were loaded onto the back of two lorries, which are believed to be heading to Farnborough so that the Air Accident Investigation Branch can examine the aircraft.

The A27 is expected to remain closed until Saturday while the rest of the debris is removed and the crash site thoroughly searched.

Police believe 11 people are likely to have been killed in the incident which happened at the Sussex Pad lights at 1.20pm on Saturday.
