Police are tracing suspected burglars after two incidents in Mid Sussex.
Officers said on Wednesday March 16 at 7.15pm intruders were disturbed while attempting to break into the rear of a house in Sycamore Drive, Burgess Hill.
Police said witnesses described seeing three men dressed in dark clothing run from the area of house.
One of the men was wearing a distinctive top which was dark in colour with a large white number ‘77’ on the back, officers added.
Police are also investigating a burglary which took place between Wednesday March 16 and Thursday March 17 at a home in Chapman Way, Haywards Heath.
Officers said intruders broke into the back of the property and jewellery was stolen.
Detective Constable Heidi McCall of the West Sussex Priority Crime Team said: “If you were in those areas at the times involved, and saw anything suspicious, please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 101, quoting serial 700 of 17/03 for the Haywards Heath burglary or serial 1406 of 16/03 for the Burgess Hill incident.
“You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
Police have not confirmed whether these two incidents are linked.
