Issues under review include the mental and physical health of children and young people, making sure families receive the support they need, making sure children are safe and secure and that they are ready for school and school leavers are ready to work.

The Board will also hear first-hand from a parent caring for a child with special educational needs as well as evidence from Healthwatch West Sussex, the independent consumer champion for health and social care.

Board Chairman Christine Field said: “It is essential that children and young people – and their families – are able to live healthy and fulfilled lives.

“We need to help them make the right choices in life, and have access to the right services and support to do this. If there is more that we can do then we want to identify those areas and ensure they are addressed.”
