Burgess Hill Town Council has submitted plans so the sport can be played at the Fairfield Recreation Ground.

The Pétanque court and two benches would be installed north of the existing multi-use games area and near the community centre and car park.

It would be 22m by 18m and seven inches deep and dressed with fine grit and surrounded by concrete kerb stones/sleepers.

A French drain would be dug around the perimeter and filled with shingle.

An application for the works is due to be discussed by Mid Sussex District Council’s planning committee on Thursday (January 21)
