Nigel Farage presents his vision for the country at packed public meeting in Coldwaltham

Leader of the UK Independence Party, Nigel Farage presented his vision for the country at a public meeting in Sussex tonight (Monday April 22).

More than 200 people packed into a hall at the Lodge Hill Centre, Coldwaltham to hear the charismatic MEP speak on his Common Sense tour of the UK ahead of the local elections on May 2.

UKIP has fielded candidates in all of the 71 West Sussex County Council divisions, as well as those in East Sussex and throughout the region.

With a strong focus on immigration and closing Britain’s ‘open door’ policy, Mr Farage told the audience to stop moaning at the 10 o’clock news and instead do something about it..

He also asserted that all UKIP candidates elected to a county council this May will oppose wind turbine applications.

Speaking to this paper at the event Mr Farage also reiterated his principled position on the freedom of speech and his opposition to the proposed Royal Charter to regulate the country’s newspapers.
