Brookworth Homes Limited wants to build a range of accommodation on the 0.8-hectare site, which includes one and two bedroom flats in three-storey blocks, as well as two and three-bedroom houses.

The plan proposes 56 car parking spaces with new access created onto Cuckfield Road.

The design and access statement said: “The proposed residential development offers an elegant and high quality design, which will enhance the character and visual amenity of the surrounding area, while the layout ensures that the proposal will not have any adverse impact on the enjoyment of the adjoining neighbours.”

The statement also said the development will feature high quality perimeter landscaping and will retain important existing trees where possible.

It added that the site is in an area that the District Plan says will be important when integrating the proposed Northern Arc development with Burgess Hill amenities and transport.

The planning application’s reference number is DM/21/1524 and people can view it at midsussex.gov.uk.
