Frontier Estates (Hassocks) Limited wants to knock down Byanda, a residential property on the vacant site, and build a three storey building with access for vehicles and 20 car parking spaces.

The design and access statement said a public consultation with residents near the site was held for three weeks between December 11 and January 8.

“A copy was also sent to the local planning authority, district councillors and local ward councillors.”

The design and access statement also said the plan features associated new landscaping ‘to enhance the existing verdant setting’.

This includes: an entrance area, a resident’s garden that ‘evokes the feel of a domestic garden’, a secluded ‘quiet garden’, an orchard and ‘sensory planting’ of flowers and shrubs.

The planning application reference is DM/21/1653 and people can view it at midsussex.gov.uk.
