Scottish election results ‘seismic’ says former Horsham MP Francis Maude

Speaking to the BBC this morning about the possibility of the SNP seizing almost all the parliamentary seats north of the border he called it was a ‘massive failure for Labour who have taken it [Scotland] for granted for too long’.

Douglas Alexander was the first high profile Labour casualty, losing his seat Paisley and Renfrewshire South this morning, with more big names expected to lose their seats to the SNP.

Jim Murphy, leader of the Scottish Labour Party, was then the second big name to lose his East Renfrewshire seat to the SNP.
