An internationally renowned sculptor will be opening an exhibition at Borde Hill Garden.
The 2015 Sculpture Exhibition will be opened by Angela Conner, who will also be unveiling her own permanent piece, in the presence of Sussex dignitaries and guests.
Now in its 16th year, the Sculpture Exhibition at Borde Hill is a celebration of art and sculpture by both established and up and coming artists.
During the Exhibition the Garden is transformed into an outdoor gallery.
Angela Conner said: “I am particularly thrilled to be making a mobile water sculpture for Borde Hill. It is wonderful to have such an iconic garden embracing contemporary sculpture. My sculpture is based, as so often is the case with my work, on natural forces. In this case water, gravity and balance.”
Andy James, UK chief executive of 1ST CENTRAL, the exhibition’s sponsor, said: “We’re thrilled to show our support for this year’s Sculpture Exhibition.
“The event celebrates some of the best talent in the area and we hope adults and children alike will enjoy these works of art in such a beautiful setting. We’re committed to supporting our local area and we think this is a great way to celebrate the culture that’s right on our doorstep.”
The Stephenson Clarke family, who have lived at Borde Hill for four generations, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating another year of sculptures in the Garden. Over the years we have seen such a breadth of talent and it is a joy to see the beauty of the Garden enhanced by the works of so many credible artists”.
The Exhibition runs from May 1 to September 1 and admission is included in the standard entry price.
All works in the exhibition are available for sale.
