Santas chase the pud to raise £2000 in Ardingly

Christmas puddings and Santas raised £2000 in a Chase the Pub and Chocolate Sauce Walk on December 7.

The event hosted by Ardingly College raised funds for the British Heart Foundation’s Haywards Heath branch.

This year the theme was Chase the Pud, with James Price and Carlos Sandin acting as the speedy puds.

Almost 150 people took part in the event – plus quite a number of dogs, as part of the Chocolate Sauce Walk.

One organiser said: “It was quite a sight to see a crowd of red Santas running down the edge of College Road in Ardingly encouraged by tooting motorists.”

Both humans and dogs were rewarded with medals! £2,000 was raised by the event and a collection by Ardingly Santas in Haywards Heath.

British Heart Foundation organiser John Higgins said, “This was an excellent, safe and well marshalled course, suitable for the jogger or the keen runner, and everybody seemed to have a lot of fun doing it.

“Thank you to Ardingly and all the fabulous staff who helped us put on the event. I look forward to the next time.”
