Early Notice: There will be a fund raising and awareness night for Alzheimer’s and Dementia at Scaynes Hill Club on Saturday 17 October 2015. Both illnesses are likely to touch most families at one time or another in the future and support for these causes is vital. Not a nice thought but a realistic one. The format for the evening is yet to be confirmed but it will involve a quiz and food. Both Bridget Pepper and Steve Allott are supporting and promoting this event. More information will follow in the coming weeks. Just keep the evening free

Fruit & Veg Share: The Fruit & Veg Share scheme, which allows those with excess produce to leave it for others to collect, is back again for a third year. Look out for the Share stall with the green and white stripy awning, which will be on the grass in front of the Church every Tuesday until September. Leave or take produce with no money changing hands!

Quiz Nights: There is now a weekly quiz at the Inn on the Green. It starts at 7.00pm, every Wednesday, with a £2.00 entrance fee and a maximum of 6 players per team. Why not go along and test out your brain power?

Rugby World Cup: It’s that time again when if you don’t like sport you need to hibernate! The Rugby World Cup started on Friday 18 September with England v Fiji starting off proceedings. All the matches will be shown at Scaynes Hill Club, Church Road (opposite the common).

A Message from Lisa: On Sunday 27 September, we will celebrate our Harvest Festival, and will once again begin at Oakgates Fruit Farm, at 9.45am, before walking (or driving) back to the church to continue the celebration. We won’t let the weather deter us, so if it’s rainy, we will still begin our service at the farm, making good use of waterproofs, and umbrellas!
Youth News – a message from Emily Ludgate: Thank you to those folks who have chatted with me about our Knitted Nativity project. I now have a knitting pattern book, money to buy the wool and a few people have offered to help with knitting. If you fancy a go at knitting some sheep or maybe a few angels, or shepherds please have a chat with me. Our Christmas Posada, travelling nativity is looking like it’s going to be a lovely church and community project. Emily. Please speak to Emily 07825235907 or email her at
