Charity Quiz Night: Dementia and Alzheimers is on the increase and it is estimated that by 2025 one million people in Britain will have dementia. Scaynes Hill Club is holding a ‘Dementia Awareness Night’ and hope to raise much needed funds for research and training. There will be a QUIZ with tickets being sold for just £2.50. There is a maximum of 6 players per team. There will also be a very tasty Lasagne on sale during the interval. All money raised will go to the cause. Both Bridget Pepper and Steve Allott are supporting and promoting this event. Tickets can be purchased from the club or from Bridget or Steve.

Fruit & Veg Share: The Fruit & Veg Share scheme is now finished for 2015. Thank you to everyone who participated and to the good folk who organised this marvellous scheme.

Quiz Nights: There has been a change to the Inn on the Green Quiz Night. It will now be held on the first Wednesday of the month and not weekly. It starts at 7.00pm, with a £2.00 entrance fee and a maximum of 6 players per team. Why not go along and test out your brain power?

Rugby World Cup: It’s that time again when if you don’t like sport you need to hibernate! The Rugby World Cup started on Friday 18 September with England v Fiji starting off proceedings. All the matches will be shown at Scaynes Hill Club, Church Road (opposite the common).

St Augustine’s Church News: Youth News – a message from Emily Ludgate: Thank you to those folks who have chatted with me about our Knitted Nativity project. I now have a knitting pattern book, money to buy the wool and a few people have offered to help with knitting. If you fancy knitting some sheep, maybe a few angels or shepherds please have a chat with me. WI: The WI has a very special guest for their meeting on Wednesday 14 October. Sylvia Rattenbury will be the speaker and her talk is on ‘Fill your wardrobe with colour’. Sylvia was trained by Colour Me Beautiful in 2004 and she is now an award winning Personal Stylist and Image Consultant with the company. The meeting will be at the Millennium Centre and starts at 2.00pm. Guests and new members are always welcome.
