Staplefield Women’s Group: Members Guest Evening - Thursday 16th July. A private opening of Nymans with a talk by the curatorial staff on the history of the house and gardens followed by wine and other refreshments at Hill Top Farm. Staplefield Horticultural Society: Annual Flower Show, Saturday 18th July 2015. Please obtain a schedule from either Gill Childs 400594, Les Parker 400317 or Jessica Appleford on 400 346. The Committee hope residents both old and new in Staplefield, Slaugham, Handcross, Warninglid and Pease Pottage, and children attending the village schools will enter the various classes - horticulture, photography, needlework, cookery and flower arranging.

Holmsted Manor Open Gardens: Holmsted Manor are hosting a series of open gardens over the summer months, with the aim of welcoming our local community into the beautiful grounds that we enjoy. Admission is free with the only charge being for items in the cafe. Holmsted Manor has a rich history since Youth With a Mission acquired the property and from when it was first built, which includes its extensive gardens. We have inherited a beautiful site from those who have gone before us and we want to see that it is not only those who life here to enjoy it. Dates for 2015 are: Sunday 26th July, Wednesday 19th August & Saturday 12th September. The gardens will be open from 1pm - 5pm. Wear good walking shoes and if you would like to bring a well behaved dog make sure it is kept on a lead and clear up after it! There are lots of spots to picnic and there will be cream teas available.
THE STAPLEFIELD VILLAGE BARN DANCE: Saturday 5th September 7pm, The Victory Inn. £20 per person includes Live Band, Great Food and much, much more!! Dress code (optional): Cowboys & Cowgirls! Raising money for local causes.

Angus Rowland ForgetMeNot Run/Walk: Sunday 4th October 2014 - Following the success of last year with over 250 people taking part, the 5th Angus Rowland ForgetMeNot Run/Walk starting and finishing at Staplefield Village Hall. Open to all, there will be a choice of two local routes, a 6.5 mile route on muddy rural footpaths or a 1 mile walk mainly on roads. Registration will start at Staplefield Village Hall at 9am for walkers and 10 am for runners. Participants can register on the day or online: http://leukaemialymphomaresearch.org.uk/event/running-walking/angus-rowland-forget-me-not-walk-run-2015. We are suggesting a donation of £10 per adult and £5 per child under 14. This will include a T-shirt. However if you have one from a previous walk we ask that you bring this along. Dogs are welcome but must be kept under control. Refreshments will be available throughout the morning in the Village Hall and along the route.
