A steam-hauled locomotive will soon set out from the Bluebell Railway – the first since the railway was joined to the mainline two years ago.
On March 21, passengers can join The Cathedrals Express at Horsted Keynes , the station made famous by ITV’s Downton Abbey, for a day trip to Cambridge . The locomotive will be hauled by the Mayflower, which is returning to the mainline after 20 years. It was built in 1948. The Bluebell Railway is Britain’s oldest standard gauge railway.
