Sussex hospital volunteers give 1,100 years of service

Hospital staff who have given up to 45 years of service have been thanked for their dedication.

Almost 70 people who have worked for Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust for 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 years and more were invited to attend afternoon tea at the Grand Hotel in Brighton.

The trust runs Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath, and the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

Chief Nurse Sherree Fagge said: “These staff have given fantastic service for such a long time and we cannot thank them enough for their commitment to our patients.”

The volunteers have collectively given 1,100 years of service, including Trevor Mann Baby Unit Nursery Nurse Mavis Dawson who has worked at the trust for 45 years.
