The following summary of planned new and ongoing road improvements over the coming week is correct as of February 12 but could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. All our improvement work is carried out with the aim of causing as little disruption as possible.

A23 Pyecombe Cutting, East Sussex: geotechnical work

Work to maintain safety on the A23 continues this week. The A281/A23 coastbound entry slip road will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 15 February for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the London-bound A23.

A23 Pyecombe to Patcham, East Sussex: carriageway investigation

Work to maintain safety on the A23 continues this week.

There will be lane closures on the southbound carriageway overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 15 February for 2 nights.

There will be a lane closure on the northbound carriageway, and a closure of the A23 northbound entry slip road from the eastbound A27 overnight between 8pm and 6am, from Wednesday 17 February for 3 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the next junction of the A27

A26 South of Beddingham, East Sussex: drainage investigation

Work to improve safety on the A26 south of Beddingham Roundabout will start this week. There will be lane closures with two way temporary traffic lights in place overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Wednesday 17 February for 3 nights.

A27 Falmer Footbridge, East Sussex: bridge maintenance

Work to replace the ramp on the footbridge over the A27 at Falmer will continue this week. Narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit will be in place on the westbound carriageway and the outside lane of the westbound exit slip road will be closed 24/7 until the end of the scheme. Work is due to be complete in May 2016.

A27 Offington Corner, West Sussex: maintenance

Work to improve safety on the A27 will start this week. The westbound carriageway between Grove Lodge Roundabout and Clapham junction will be closed overnight, between 7.30pm and 5am, from Monday 15 February for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A280.

A27 Firle Park, East Sussex: resurfacing

Work to improve road safety on the A27 will start this week. The carriageway will be closed in both directions between Firle Borstal junction and Burgh Lane overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 15 February for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A26 and the A22.

A27 Selmeston, East Sussex: footpath resurfacing

Work to improve the footpath between the Salvidge Service Station and the Village Road junction will take place this week. Two way traffic lights will be in place overnight, between 8pm and 5am, from Monday 15 February for 5 nights.

A27 Southwick Tunnel, West Sussex: routine maintenance

Work to maintain road user safety on the A27 will take place this week. The carriageway will be closed in both directions overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Friday 19 February for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A270 and the A293.

A2070, Ashford, East Sussex; road marking replacement

Work to improve safety on the A2070 between M20 junction 10 and Brenzett Roundabout will start this week. Temporary traffic lights and a 40mph speed limit will be in place with road users being escorted past the works at 10mph on the single carriageway section of the A2070 between Brenzett Roundabout and the A2042/A2070 junction. Work will take place overnight, between 8pm and 5am, from Monday 15 February for 7 consecutive nights.
