Members of the public have been invited to take part in a walk in memory of a Burgess Hill man who died suddenly last year.

Maurice Spence died from cancer, aged 69, on February 3, after being looked after at St Peter and St James Hospice in Wivelsfield in his last few days.

He was known to his grandchildren as ‘Grumps’.

His family and friends are thanking the hospice by raising funds through a series of events.

They will host their second annual ‘Walk 4 Grumps’ this Sunday (June 7).

The walk will be along the Undercliff Walk, starting and finishing below Whitecliffs Cafe, in Saltdean.

There will be two routes to chose from - a long one to Brighton Marina starting at 10am and a shorter one to Rottingdean starting at 11am.
