Tonight’s the night for Gander Hill plan

Tonight is decision night for a housing application opposed by more than 150 people.

The Planning A committee of Mid Sussex District Council will discuss a scheme to build 15 homes on land near Sunte House at Gander Green, Haywards Heath.

Councillors will have to decide whether to back to complaints of people in the area that the building of the homes would spoil the setting of Sunte House, a Queen Anne house.

The planning department of the district council is recommending the application by Stuart Forrester should be refused.

But support for the scheme includes the point that it will bring low density and high quality homes. And planners have been told the house has enough land to protect its heritage, privacy and setting .
