Oathall Community College pupils have beaten last year’s GCSE results in many subjects.
In English, students have eclipsed previous high standards with 77% achieving A*-C. In mathematics and 68% achieved passes at A* to C.
More than half of all grades awarded were B or higher and a quarter of all grades were at A or A*.
53% of biology, chemistry and physics, 34% of art, 49% of PE and 39% of geography exams were graded A or A*.
Students excelled in modern languages with 25% of grades across all languages being awarded A or A*.
All of the students studying music secured an A* - C with 31% achieving A* or A.
The drama and dance results are their best ever with 87% and 86% achieving A*-C respectively.
All students studying AS-level critical thinking secured passes and in further mathematics, 84% achieved A* to C.
94% of grades awarded at A* to C in Photography, 92% in Art and 82% in textiles.
Headteacher Mr Edward Rodriguez said: “Our students approached their examinations in an exemplary manner; they worked hard and demonstrated notable commitment to their studies. I am delighted to see that their efforts have been rewarded.”
