A collision between two vehicles has caused traffic problems on the A24 near Washington this morning (Monday June 1).

The Washington bypass is partially blocked with queuing traffic northbound at the Washington roundabout.

The A283 north of Petworth is closed to heavy good vehicles at the Hampers Green junction because of fallen power cables.

Police are directing traffic at the scene of the incident.

Elsewhere, there is slow traffic on the A24 northbound between Hop Oast Park And Ride Roundabout and Broadbridge Heath Roundabout, the A24 northbound at Buck Barn Crossroads, and on the A272 eastbound in Cowfold between Peartree Corner and Coach House Roundabout.

In Crawley, Station Way is busy but moving between County Mall and the A2219 Brighton Road level crossing traffic lights junction.

The weather today will be bright and sunny this morning but with increasing cloud and possibly heavy showers this afternoon, according to the Met Office.
