Flooded roads and rolled car near A27: Sussex travel updates

A number of roads across Sussex remain closed this morning (Tuesday, November 17) following the weekend’s heavy rain.

According to traffic reports, Barcombe Mills Road, at Barcombe, remains closed both ways from Church Road to Wellingham Road.

The road was closed on Monday morning following adverse weather conditions and is still shut this morning

Towards Alfriston, Litlington Road both ways in Litlington due to flooding.

And near Crawley, Lowfield Heath Road is closed both ways between Bonnetts Lane and The Street, again due to flooding.

This morning, the road remains closed on the western side of Gatwick Airport affecting traffic between Gatwick and Charlwood. It has been closed since Sunday morning (November 15).

In other traffic news, there are reports of a rolled car in Titch Hill, affecting traffic both ways near the A27 Upper Brighton Road. There are also the usual delays on the A27 near Worthing.

Also on the A27, close to Lewes, a traffic signal failure on the Ashcombe Roundabout is reportedly affecting traffic. Reports say the traffic lights are phasing incorrectly. Traffic in the area is beginning to ease.
