Sussex travel update for Wednesday, May 13

A two-car collision and a cow on the road has caused some travel disruption in Sussex this morning.

The collision at Eastbourne happened on the A2270 Upperton Road. Traffic is said to be coping well.

And traffic reports say the cow is no longer on the road on the A26 at South Heighton, near Newhaven.

All other major roads in Sussex are clear this morning.

There are still some long-term road closures in place, such as the A29 at Bognor. One lane of two is closed due to gas main work, between Highfield Road and A259 Rowan Way.

Madeira Drive and Dukes Mound in Brighton remain closed due to coronavirus travel restrictions, between Palace Pier and Sussex Square.

North Street in Lewes is closed both ways due to water main works, from High Street to Shoe Lane.

Cowbeech Road in Rushlake Green, Heathfield, is also closed both ways due to water main work.

College Road in Haywards Heath remains closed both ways due to water main work.

Ketches Lane in Sheffield Park, Uckfield, is closed both ways due to electricity work, between A275 Sheffield Park and Sliders Lane.

Hook Lane in Chichester is closed both ways due to gas main work.

The B2185 Grand Avenue at Hove is closed due to paving repairs.

Frederick Street in Brighton is closed due to construction works.

Madeira Place in Brighton is closed due to gas main work.

And Croft Road in Crowborough remains closed both ways due to construction works.
