UPDATE: Major Sussex road closed in two places after lorry accidents
Police are advising drivers of long delays in the Polegate to Lewes area around the A27 this afternoon (Thursday March 5) which they say are likely to extend into the evening rush hour.
Emergency services have been at the scene since 11.40am when a 41-ton lorry with a load of aluminium overturned on to its side on the westbound A27 outside Folkington Manor between Polegate and Drusillas roundabout, and collided with a car.
Several other vehicles sustained minor damage.
