Two men charged after life-threatening assault in Burgess Hill

Two men have been charged with two counts of assault after a fight which left a Burgess Hill man in hospital in life-threatening condition.

Alfie Robinson, 22, of Chanctonbury Road, Burgess Hill, and Benjamin Watkinson, 22, of Stanford Road, Brighton, have each been charged with two counts of assault after the fight in Mill Road, Burgess Hill, on Sunday morning (June 28).

Both were remanded in custody to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday July 1).

A 20-year-old man from Burgess Hill remains in a critical condition in hospital after suffering serious head injuries in the fight which took place at about 3.15am.

A 24-year-old man suffered minor facial injuries and was treated in hospital but released later.

Forensic officers were investigating the scene on Sunday morning.
