Update: Motorway lane reopened near Pease Pottage after accident

A lane was closed on the M23 near Pease Pottage following an accident this morning (Saturday April 9).

The lane three was shut on the M23 southbound between Junction 10a B2036 Balcombe Road and Junction 11, A23 (Pease Pottage).

Police, paramedics and firefighters were called at about 7.38am.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said a car had come off the carriageway and gone into trees.

Reports are that this is the second accident reported this morning on this stretch of the M23.
