UPDATE: Woman in serious condition after car hits tree

A woman was badly hurt after her car left the road and hit a tree.

Emergency services were called to the crash south of Bonnetts Lane, in Ifield, at around 8am on Sunday (February 7).

Police said a red Vauxhall Corsa, being driven by the 48-year-old from Crawley, left the road and collided with a tree and a fence.

The woman was released from the car by firefighters and paramedics and taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

She was treated for chest injuries and is in a serious but stable condition, police said.

Sergeant Richard Hornsey of the Surrey and Sussex Road Policing Unit said; “If you saw what happened please contact us via [email protected] or call 101, quoting Operation Assembly.”
