UPDATE: Woman seriously injured following A26 accident
A woman has been taken to hospital with serious back injuries following a collision between two cars yesterday evening (July 1).
Police said they were called to the scene on the A26 in Ringmer around 6.20pm where a Peugeot had collided with an Ibiza, resulting in delays in both directions between the Ham Lane junction and the Isfield Road junction.
According to police, a 47 year-old man was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and was stable, but a woman was found to have serious injuries to her back.
The road was shut for several hours but is now clear.
