VIDEO: Theatre evacuated after building fire

Firefighters were called to a derelict building in De La Warr Road, East Grinstead, at around 1.40pm.

A spokesman for the fire service said the fire broke out in the ground floor of the 50m by 235m building. It was empty and no injuries have been reported.

The nearby Chequer Mead Community Arts Centre was evacuated as a precaution.

Seven crews were called and used hose reels and water jets to tackle the flames.
