THE HALF MOON: The Half Moon has now reopened with Debbie as the new Manageress. Please keep supporting our local pub – there is to be a new food menu, including Sunday roasts! A Pool Table has now been installed, and Debbie says she will definitely be open on Christmas Day for drinks, and hopefully for one sitting of Christmas Dinner. Keep an eye on the boards for further notices.

TRAFFIC: there will be work on the Handcross Road to allow for a new connection to the water main on 31 October until 4 November. On the High Street a new electricity service alteration cable is being laid on 31 October until 4 November. Work to renew a gully frame and cover will be happening on the London Road on 1 November. All these road works will be undertaken with two-way signals in place.

FLOWER CLUB: meet on Friday 28 October at 7.30 pm in the Parish Room. This meeting should have been the AGM but that has been moved to January. In its place there will be four demonstrations and the theme is “Home Grown.” The demonstrators will be Ann Bryant. Lois Fenn, Pauline Jerrams and Judy Hammans.

BALCOMBE CLUB LOTTO: will be drawn on Saturday 29 October at 6.00 pm. The Club have a quiz on Sunday 30 at 8.00 pm. Teams of four.

HALLOWEEN PARTY: Balcombe Club is hosting a Halloween Party for children on Saturday 29 October from 2.30 pm when the brilliant Mr Tom Foolery and his Baked Bean show will be the star attraction and there will be a disco. ST. MARY’S CHURCH: Sunday 30 October 8.00 am Holy Communion, 10.00 am Parish Eucharist, 6.00 pm All Saints Eucharist – remembering departed loved ones.
