RUBBISH FREIGHTERS: Apologies that the freighters were cancelled at short notice last Sunday morning. Unfortunately due to a clash with the St. Catherine's Hospice walk SERCO's Risk Assessor attended at 8.30 am Sunday morning and deemed it too dangerous for the vehicles to operate with the increased traffic and parking resulting from the sponsored walk. Hopefully the Parish Council will be able to reschedule in the next month or so and will let residents know as soon as possible.

COMMUNITY LINKS: meet in the Victory Hall kitchen on Friday 19 October from 11.00 am until 1.30 pm. Pop in for a chat and a cuppa.

HIGHLEY MANOR WEDDING FAYRE: takes place on Sunday 21 October from 11.00 am until 3.00 pm.

BALCOMBE CLUB HALLOWEEN PARTY: Balcombe Club are running their popular Halloween Children’s Party on Saturday 27 October. Put your name down if you want to participate. There will be fancy dress, entertainment and a disco. Unfortunately due to illness Ray Owen and Juicy Lucy have had to cancel on 20 October.

CINEMA: The next film in the Victory Hall is Book Club on Friday 26 October at 7.30 pm. This is a romantic comedy rated 12A and stars Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, and Candice Bergen. Tickets £6 from Threads.

The Annual VILLAGE QUIZ: takes place on Sunday 21 October 7.00 pm for 7.30 pm in the Victory Hall. Village clubs and societies are invited to enter a team of up to 4 people at a cost of £10 per team to aim to win £100, plus the trophy, with a second prize of £25.Please email back to [email protected] if you would like to enter, confirming your:- Team Captain, Team Name, Organisation (Club / Charity). The quiz, which is always a fun evening, is being led by Pam and Barrie who you may know as they run a number of quizzes locally. There will be a number of rounds covering a wide range of topics. The doors will open at 7pm and the quiz will start promptly at 7:30pm. As with previous years we will be running a raffle – raffle prize donations welcomed.
