‘Christmas with dignity’ was the banner under which a number of Burgess Hill organisations came together to ensure that families in crisis would be remembered this Christmas.
Nancy Weibel Pilates, Ultimate Outdoor Training, Burgess Hill Runners, as well as various friends and Facebook ‘friends’ organised between them 13 family hampers, 20 gift bags for adults and 34 stockings for children - all to be given to families and individuals for whom Christmas is not a time of joy and indulgence, but a time of worry and fear.
The groups wanted to make sure that families and individuals in crisis would not just walk away with the three day basic provision, but would receive a gift as well as a Christmas hamper - and that parents would be able to take home stockings from Santa for their children.
Yet again, this shows a strong connection in the Burgess Hill fitness scene, and a commitment to serve the local community.
