The Downlands School Association pulled out all the stops on Saturday June 25 to put on a fabulous Summer Fayre.
Despite nature’s best efforts to dampen the afternoon with torrential rain and thunderstorms, there was a lovely vibe and lots of smiley faces on view. The Burgess Hill Runners kicked off proceedings with Fun Runs for toddlers, youth and adults.
Copious amounts of burgers (thanks to the Science Department), popcorn (thanks to 8LD), sweets (thanks to 7TC) and cakes (thanks to all of Year 7) were consumed.
With stalls run by our fantastic students - from hook-a-duck to the Human Fruit Machine - and representatives from the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance service and the Oldlands Windmill to speak to as well as local businesses selling their wares it was a fabulous afternoon.
We are already looking forward to the Summer Fayre 2017!
