Local children’s charity Rockinghorse is looking for supporters to get in the festive spirit and wear red and green on Friday December 11 for their Dress as an Elf day, raising money for sick children in Sussex this Christmas.
The charity is looking for businesses, schools, community groups and individuals to take part in the festive fundraiser, with participants being asked to donate £1 to dress in red and green, or a full elf outfit!
All funds raised will be donated towards their Toy Box Appeal to provide poorly babies, children and teenagers with presents this Christmas. The charity is the official fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital (the Alex) and a vital support of the Trevor Mann Baby Unit (TMBU) in Brighton and its sister site, the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) in Haywards Heath.
Rockinghorse raises money for items necessary for every child’s treatment; from furnishings and toys for the wards through to cutting-edge diagnostic machines and life-saving medical equipment. They strive to give children access to the very best medical care and attention in surroundings that are better suited to their needs.
The charity has also signed up to be part of Giving Tuesday – a dedicated national day of giving – on Tuesday 1 December, where they will be encouraging supporters to pledge their involvement in the Dress as an Elf day, via a social media campaign.
Those wishing to get involved in the festive fundraiser can contact Rockinghorse on 01273 330044 and they will send you a charity elf pack full of advice and ideas to help make the most of your elftastic fundraising.
