Warden Park Academy’s U14 Boys Football Team has continued their early season good form with another victory in the Sussex County Cup.

With a Round 2 home draw against William Parker Academy from Hastings, Warden Park were hoping for success despite the opposition’s strong football reputation.

Warden Park dominated early on, hitting the bar and testing the opponent’s goalkeeper on a number of occasions. Midway through the first half, they took the lead with a tremendous half volley into the top corner from Taylor Wiggins.

This was swiftly followed by their second goal, scored by Alfie Barnes. After hitting the cross bar for a second time, Warden Park came in at the break with a comfortable 2-0 advantage.

They started the second half full of confidence and this was quickly rewarded with a third goal. Their display over the next 25 minutes of possession football with a cutting edge produced 4 more goals bringing a deserved 7-0 victory.

The team progresses into the 3rd Round of the County Cup with a trip to Steyning Grammar School.

The boys have had an impressive season to date, both in attack, scoring plenty of goals, and in defence, conceding only one goal in 5 matches.

They have certainly got their sights set on continuing this successful Cup run.
