Student company Vida, from Hurstpierpoint College, are through to the regional finals of the Young Enterprise competition after winning awards in the county final.
The event took place on Wednesday 6th May at the Chequer Mead Community Arts Centre in East Grinstead.
Vida won the awards for Best Branding and Best Stage Presentation. They were the runners-up overall. They go on to compete in the Young Enterprise regional final at Guildford Cathedral in June.
Jan Leeper, Head of Careers at Hurst said, “The students were fabulous to work with and presented their product and trade stand extremely well. We are looking forward to going to Guildford for the next round of the competition.”
Last week Vida swept the board at the Mid Sussex competition by winning eleven awards. They won 1st prize awards for Best Trade Stand, Best Presentation, Best Year 12 Company, Best Branding, Best Website, Innovation Award, Health and Safety Award and Best Company at a Trade Fair. Vida took the overall title as the Best Company for Mid Sussex in 2015.
The team was runner-up in the Best Report and Accounts Award and Deputy Managing Director, Tom Lewis, 17, was also Highly Commended as a Young Achiever of the Year.
Vida was made up of 18 Lower Sixth students from Hurst, each with a defined responsibility in the company.
Their product was ‘A jar for life’; a jar filled with all the main ingredients for making a high-quality snack. The range included gingerbread cookies, an Oreo Cookie milkshake, a pineapple and banana smoothie, and a ‘super healthy salad’.
