Haywards Heath Lions held their Swimarathon Presentation Evening at the town Hall on Thursday June 11 where Lions President David Colville presented a cheque for £12000 to SERV, the Blood Bike charity that transports emergency blood and baby milk products from St Georges Tooting to hospitals throughout Sussex.
The money will purchase a new bike for the charity that is self-funded and relies on donations from the public to provide this much needed service. The evening was attended by past Mayor Sandy Ellis who praised Haywards Heath Lions and all those that took part for raising such a large amount of money this year. The awards and certificates were presented by Mr Anthony Gimson, President of the Sussex County Amateur Swimming Association.
