On 17 November, Oakmeeds played Imberhorne in the first round of the U14 Girls’ Football Mid-Sussex Cup.

Oakmeeds’ Adeline Preston scored a goal in the first five minutes.

This gave the team a huge boost and inspired the rest of the team to work together in defence, midfield and attack, resulting in Adeline scoring our second goal.

Sadly within a short time Imberhorne clawed back a goal; however this made Oakmeeds strive to score another, once again scored by Adeline.

In the second half Sophie Hooper scored another goal for us, but Imberhorne scored three meaning it was a 4-4 draw at full time.

Since it was a Cup match the game progressed into penalties. The first penalties were scored by both teams. The next four penalties missed and then two went in. Finally, Oakmeeds’ Rhiannon Marchant’s penalty went in, leaving Abbie Dorgan to save the next shot resulting in an Oakmeeds win!
