On Friday 5 December Oakmeeds joined schools across the UK for a national fundraising maths bonanza.
NSPCC Number Day is a fun, nationwide event designed to encourage young people to use and enjoy maths as well as raising money for the NSPCC.
Oakmeeds’ Maths Department used the day to develop Numeracy Across the Curriculum by organising a number of activities;
l Puzzles for KS3 tutor groups to complete
l Quizzes and activities in maths lessons
l A competitive cross-curricular Numeracy Trail for students
l A number-themed cake sale at lunchtime (organised by Year 10 Maths Mentors). All proceeds to the NSPCC.
