Oathall’s under13 girl’s cricket team have done it again and beaten off strong competition to become the Lady Taverners U13 County indoor cricket winners.
This victory continues Oathall’s strong winning streak in this area of the sport following the success of Oathall’s U15 team who went on to become national champions in last year’s competition.
Miss Laura Gyngell, PE teacher said, “I was nervous about our chances of success in this round of the competition as we were up against some really strong teams from Bedes, Warden Park and Sir Robert Woodard Academy. I was really pleased with how strongly we played with some exciting and enthralling performances from team members. In the end we beat Sir Robert Woodard Academy on overall runs scored by 309 to 282. We now go on to represent Sussex in the regional finals where we compete against schools from London and the Home Counties.”
Oathall’s winning U13 team were: Issy Peacock (captain) Ellie Taylor (vice-captain) Millie Herbert, Kia Layne, Amber Tranter, Imogen Wilkins, Ellie Hohol and Milly Bulitokaivale-Lancaster.
The team were coached by PE teacher Miss Laura Gyngell.
