Lindfield Bonfire Society wishes to say a massive thank you to everyone who braved the weather to attend our 5th November celebration.

We were delighted to again be joined in our procession by members of Chailey, Burgess Hill and Edenbridge Bonfire Societies, Burgess Hill Marching Youth and our fancy dress competition entrants.

The weather did affect attendance, which was down from previous years but there we still thousands in attendance for the procession and fireworks display.

The adverse weather during the day and evening certainly made it one of the more difficult celebrations for us to set up and manage, with many of our members and volunteers spending a rather wet day despite their waterproofs! We thank them all for their persistence despite the cold and wet!

A key challenge on the day was the rain, which throw up a number of technical issues and resulted in a delay to the procession and also to starting the grand firework display.

Lindfield Bonfire Society hopes the delay did not spoil the evening for those attending, and that when started the firework display was well worth the wait! Certainly feedback to us on the display itself has been very positive, with many saying it is the best they have seen us put on.

The Committee at Lindfield Bonfire Society wish to say thanks to everyone who helped make out celebration happen.

LBS wish to say special thanks to the following organisations for help our celebration take place: Sussex Police, Haywards Heath Fire & Rescue Service, Mid Sussex District Council, SERCO, The Red Cross, The Rotary Club, Riding for the Disabled, Mid Sussex Trident Scouts, Phoenix Security, Sussex 4x4 Response, Burgess Hill Marching Youth Band, Chailey Bonfire Society, Burgess Hill Bonfire Society, Edenbridge Bonfire Society, The Tail End Charlie team, Lindfield Bonfire Society Firer Team , Chailey Bonfire Society Firer Team, Aurora Fireworks, all who volunteered to collect and marshall on the night, those who provided support before during and after our event and of course the Lindfield Bonfire boys and girls!
