Lancing College Prep at Hove has achieved a clean sweep of the highest possible grades awarded by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
The rare accolade came after an intensive four day process by four inspectors who tested to the limit the school’s claims to be one of the outstanding schools in the area.
The report particularly highlighted the brilliance of the teaching stating that “Teaching is excellent and employs high quality resources to engage all pupils including the use of ICT”.
In addition, “Throughout the school, the lively, challenging and often inspirational teaching supports the school’s aims” and all pupils “acquire excellent subject knowledge across a wide range of study and interests”.
The report adds that “as a result of well-planned cross-curricular links, pupils learn to connect ideas and build on their knowledge and understanding”.
The centrality of the school’s ethos was singled out for particular praise:
“[The pupils] are confident and self-aware, yet mindful of others’ needs. The Christian values of care and respect for others inherent in the school’s foundation, are cornerstones of the of the school’s pastoral care”.
This came as no surprise to Alan Laurent, the Head Master of Lancing College Prep at Hove, who said:“The report proves that we achieve outstanding levels of achievement and academic success without diminishing our central mission to provide a happy, tolerant and fulfilling education for every individual in our school family”.
“I particularly enjoyed one comment from the report which said pupils at Lancing College Prep at Hove ‘are not afraid of a spirited debate’ which made me chuckle whilst, at the same time, making me truly proud of the all the young people in our care”.
“The report is a powerful validation of our educational ethos, the outstanding quality of our staff and, of course, our fantastic children”.
