St Peter & St James Hospice held its annual Star Walk on Saturday July 9 which was brilliantly supported by the local community.
There were 410 people registered to take part in the event which was sponsored by MetLife.
Setting off in the evening, the 10k route went from The Dolphin Leisure Centre, around Haywards Heath finishing with everyone receiving a finisher’s memento and a free breakfast. The fastest time was from Jozef Tester-Mottram who came in at 1.40:47.
Giles Witcomb, Head of Fundraising, said: “We’re so grateful to everyone who supported the Star Walk. It was a wonderful opportunity for families to remember their loved ones whilst raising funds to help more people across the local community.
“We’ve been providing our services for over 40 years and it’s only with the community’s help that we can continue to care for our patients in years to come. This sum raised will be used to continue providing treatment to our patients in Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Lewes, Uckfield and surrounding villages.”
Once the sponsorship money has been donated the hospice will announce the final fundraising total.
