Warden Park Academy is one of only two schools being given the opportunity to design and create a Mobile Phone App for the Elderflower Fields Festival; a family focussed festival, sponsored by So Sussex, which takes place in the Ashdown Forest between the 22nd and 25th May 2015. http://www.elderflowerfields.co.uk
Elderflower Fields Festival has asked Key Stage 3 students to design a Mobile Phone App that can be used by the general public, pre-festival. Using AppShed (App generating software), fourteen Warden Park students, aged 11-14, are each working hard to create an App that is both visual and appealing to anyone interested in the festival but especially to children and young teenagers. The entries will be judged by an independent panel of festival staff, including a teenager. Both the schools entering will receive a ticket to the festival for a family of four and the creator of the winning App will win a tablet computer.
Ms Phyl Stroud, Director of ICT and Computing at Warden Park said:
“We are delighted that the Festival has given us such a wonderful opportunity. We have some extremely able students in ICT and Computing and this is a very exciting project for them to be involved in. Just taking part is a tremendous opportunity and provides valuable experience to enhance a future CV.”
