Horncastle House, the Sussex Health Care facility at Sharpthorne, held its summer fete on August 1 and East Grinstead Town Mayor attended the event.
It was a lovely sunny afternoon and everyone enjoyed sitting in the garden and enjoyed the entertainment.
Liane Robinson sang a few songs for the residents and a 94-year-old resident also sang a song for everyone! The Home served afternoon teas, sandwiches, cakes and drinks to the visitors.
The children also enjoyed the bouncy castle and games – coconut shy, football game, and pin the tail on the donkey. Bags of sweets were given to the children as prizes.
The Home also had a tombola and raffle and they managed to raise £302.50.
This will be used to buy a new CD DAB Micro System for activities, new activity materials (jigsaw puzzles, colouring pens, and crayons) and new plants/shrubs for the residents’ garden.
The relatives also said that they enjoyed the fete; one even commented that it was the best and commended all the staff for a job well done.
