Mid Sussex Golf Club was the perfect venue for Kangaroos’ second annual charity golf tournament and dinner, proudly supported by headline sponsor, letting agents, Stuart and Partners.
The event took place on Friday May 13 and raised £4,564.04 for the Haywards Heath-based special needs charity, which will go towards the continued provision of activities and events for children and young adults with learning disabilities, in and around Mid Sussex.
This will enable them to enjoy varied social activities, that the rest of us take for granted, with the support of trained staff and volunteers.
Samantha Norgate, Communication, fundraising and admin officer for Kangaroos who organised and co-ordinated the day, is very grateful to Steve Delaney from Ashurst Generics, who once again gave up a lot of his time and support in helping to get the day off the ground.
The popular sell out event was blessed with glorious warm sunny weather, with a total of 14 teams taking part including a ladies team aptly named The Par Tee Girls!
Pictured are the winning team, comprising of Jamie Wallden, Martin Storey, Oliver Patterson of Mansell McTaggart and local developer Shaun Malins with the best two combined scores of 84 points. Oli Patterson also won the individual highest score of the day with 44 stapleford points playing off a handicap of 18.
After dinner, Samantha Norgate gave a short welcome, followed by a brief film of the work Kangaroos does, after which came an auction with some superb lots followed by the prize giving and raffle.
