The Kings Centre Church, Burgess Hill recently donated £10,000 to special needs charity, Kangaroos Mid Sussex.
Following their summer gift day, The Kings Centre wanted to help a local charity and nominated Kangaroos as a deserving organisation.
Kangaroos has been established for 21 years and supports over 160 families in the Mid Sussex region.
Kangaroos are very grateful to The Kings Centre for their generous gift, as it means that they can continue to provide the wide range of clubs and activities for children and young adults with learning disabilities as well as the additional support and respite for their families.
Kangaroos would dearly love a centre of their own one day, as they currently have to hire venues in Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath and Scaynes Hill, with their office based in Boltro Road, Haywards Heath.
Pictured are trustees, Julia Horton and Jane Lacey after being presented the cheque, along with some of the Kangaroos teenagers, at The Cherry Tree Centre, Burgess Hill, where one of the Kangaroos groups, Teenscene operates from.
Kangaroos have formed good links with The Kings Centre, and have used this great events venue for several of their Family Days which have been very successful, helped by the space and facilities that The King’s Centre has to offer, including Kangaroos end of summer party in September, where Pudsey Bear made a special appearance.
